Best laid plans of mice and men
We have a loooong weekend coming up, not only is it a bank holiday (which means no work monday) but Brian and I have also taken off friday (that's tomorrow (yipee!)) and tuesday.
That's a FIVE day weekend. Glorious.
However, I think we may have a few projects to complete that mean the sofa surfing will have to be left to the dogs:
Bugger.
Oh well, does anyone know when the sweetcorn will ripen?

Um. Our sweetcorn's quite ickle still, thanks to the rain. But if we get enough sunny days I should think it should ripen in a couple of weeks? Can't remember when we picked last years, but I know the plants were at least a foot higher!!
I've got tomorrow off too, isn't it great? We're going to take Mollie to see the sea this weekend :D
I shall be at a two-day show for Greyhound Gap at Firle Place this weekend. Spending Saturday night being squidged by the Packham hounds!
I should seriously think about leaving the spreading of the gravel until the corn ripens!
That way you could celebrate the gravel spreading with a corn on the cob feast!
That is the Basset way
You have had a day off!
You have not updated your blog!
I am disappointed! This blog reading is becoming part of my daily routine!
Hope the gravel spreading is going well, you are enjoying your time off work and that the corn is ripening.
Shall you tell Aoj & The Lurchers or shall I: the Packham hounds will mostly be barking, bouncing, berdoinging, being 'norty' & generally showing their mother up - if only they would be nice and do squidging. Lol.
Looking forward to post-gravel pics.
Ali, Graeme and those pesky hounds.xx

I thought we had a long weekend too.
Everyone at Adrian's new job decided not to bother working Monday.
Then ten mins before finish on Friday - it was how do fancy working Monday?
So my plans for a leisurely Monday have been stuffed.
Enjoy yourselves.
Ooo how is the sweetcorn. It is my favourite vegetable (and probably favourite food of all time)
